THE EARTH BOOK

AN ORATORIO OF THE CHANGING CITY

GOTHENBURG OPERA

Earth Book is a dream play where recitative, song and music weave a portrait of the essential city. Modern city planning documents, historical sources, archeological finds and poetic texts portray the experience of living in a city of constant change. Earth Book is performed by Varberg Chamber Choir together with soprano Karolina Andersson, tenor Tore Sunesson, pianist Jonas Olsson, percussionist Daniel Berg and bassist Adrian Eriksson. Choir professor Gunno Palmquist conducts the performance with stage direction and lighting by Joakim Engstrand. Narrator: Lars Sonnesjö.

Earth Book is a collaboration with Museum of Gothenburg and made possible by support from the Västra Götaland Region, Frispel and the Gothenburg culture department.
